@Tommy

Well if you had 4 out it you wouldn't be paying 4 a turn you'd be paying 16...

Anyway, a nice card in a control deck running a minimal amount of creatures.

Nice defense for a 4cc creature, and that ability can really block swarming decks. Too bad it also affects yourself. Still a solid card.

Fun when you have multiples out, I don't mind paying 4 a turn to keep you locked out.

Edit, I stand corrected.

I use two in a deck I'm working on...so far, they work rather well. I still wish I had the original...but I don't have 200 USD, so I'll take what I can get, thank you.

Nearly every card in Time Spiral block was a throwback to at least one previously printed card.

This card references The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale and is part of the "Magus" super cycle of rare creatures. The cards in Planar Chaos all reference one of the most powerful lands ever; the others are Magus of the Bazaar, Magus of the Coffers, Magus of the Arena, and Magus of the Library.

The Time Spiral part of the cycle focuses on powerful artifacts: Magus of the Candelabra, Magus of the Disk, Magus of the Mirror, Magus of the Jar, and Magus of the Scroll. The Future Sight part of the cycle focuses on powerful enchantments: Magus of the Moat, Magus of the Future, Magus of the Abyss,... (see all)

defiantly worse than the original, but i think that thats the idea of all the magus's. Plus it save you money! The only thing with this guy is that he isn't legendary unlike the original tabernacle, so you can put more than one in play. Of corse, then you'l need cloud post level mana axell to keep them in play. And it says "sacrifice" rather than "destroy" so indestructibility wont save it, but that also means that you wont be able to abuse that fact yourself, and Tajuru Preserver can save there creatures. And dropping the tabernacle turn one was probably the most dangerous thing you could think of.

All in all, i would say that (Without looking at the the obvious advantages and disadvantages of being a 2/6) it is worse, but not strictly worse than the original, putting it a step above most of the other maguses.

Hits harder than the original Tabernacle, sacrifice negating 'indestructable' and regenerate.

Doesn't follow the ruling of Pendrell Vale perfectly, but I like how its a 2/6 for 4 with an awesome ability nonetheless.

This + land destruction. That is hard to deal with. He survives Destructive Force.
