I'm not sure if I can really like Masticore after being single-handedly bulldozed by him so many dozens of times....

So yes, he is almost obscene. Great card.

Morphling is the number one creature ever printed in "Magic." In second place, Masticore. If you built a deck when urza's block was in standard, you put at least 2 of these bad boys in there. The same way everyone used Cursed Scroll. It's colorless so it can go into every deck, and it did when it was in standard.

This creature is so strong that wizard put an upkeep discarding for the set-back to avoid players putting the board full of these beasts. Otherwise, your opponents will be ***ing their pants.

That art was for the promo card in Relics, I'm guessing.

Steep upkeep cost. Thankfully Deep A n alysis combos well with this. Discard the DA, then draw two.

More of a tool to restore board control than a win condition, but he does his job very well. Fits well in any blue control deck with lot's of card drawing.

And why is this rated so low? People, it's the goddammed Masticore! Come on! It deserves nothing short of a 5 out of 5.

Morphling has lost its luster due to power creep and rule changes, but Masticore being a colorless 4 for 4/4, as well as a weenie killer that can escape most destruction, is still a powerhouse, far from being a 'overcast jank'.
