It says play a creature because if a card is a land AND a creature, it's still played, not cast. To my knowledge, the only card like that is Dryad Arbor.

Dear Wizards: When you print cards like this, I lose friends. Keep up the good work. 5/5

A nice third turn cripple to gain an edge early on in the game with even chances to play mana(if you went second) or be 2 up on chances to play mana( if you went first)

Qazior: This is pre-M10, when the wording was changed back to "cast" to avoid confusing issues with putting things into play (like with Elvish Piper) and casting things from your hand. Apparently people had difficulty undersanding that Phage the Untouchable can only be played from your hand. With her mana cost. Period.

Also, Silence or Orim's Chant are usually preferable to this, if that's the direction you're going. I mean, they don't stop lands, so this is somewhat superior in the early game to get the advantage in tempo. But you'd get more advantage on turn three with a three-drop creature or via removal than using all your mana on a delaying tactic like this. In that case, you're just using your third turn play to deny them a third turn play, and coming out slightly ahead. The one-mana spells do a good deal of disruption on their own, earlier (where it matters most) and cheaper (so you have some mana open early to keep up with plays you... (see all)

I woulndt use this turn three. try right about when they make their fifth mana drop. that'll hurt.

also, I kinda though Orims Chant and Silence were a wee bit OP. this is nuts.

while it is CERTAINLY no Timetwister/Wheel Fortune, I believe it actually compares facorably to those, if instead of just drawing sick amounts of cards you are looking for a card that will let you feel like you're casting Time Walk on the cheap.

Why the wording is "can't play creature cards"? Shouldn't it be cast?

Quite a bit a control card, wins you a turn.

Even if it wasn't awesome, the art would still be totes abstract ftw. I have a foil one from the Eventide prerelease, i loves it. 4/5 for super anti-tempo powah
