Should cost one? Lolwut? Then it's potentially a draw 2 for 1.

Love this card for draft or sealed (digging four cards into a forty card deck to find your third colour and your bomb is totally worth it). A little slow for standard.

It's green and it's a draw. It's no harmonize, sure but instead it actually gets you what you need.

I don't know, I think its a decent card, primarily because if you draw it late game where you don't need the extra land you can still use it to search for creatures. You can see a definite "creature cycling" theme here, between mayael, and gift of the gargantuan. With a few global enchantments on the field you could potentially be playing up to 3 creatures per each 1 in a single turn, and where ancients tread doesn't hurt either. Looking back on this card it actually seems like it was heavily under rated. I don't know that it ever saw a lot of play.

I never feel disappointed when running into this. It searches for a Bloodbraid Elf or some other good thing AND a land, plus I'm never annoyed when Cascading into this.

This card got a lot better when I realized I could use it to basically scry 4 and fetch both Rampaging Baloths and Contested Cliffs.

Compared to Commune with Nature this is overcosted and/or lacking. 3 Mana for a top 4 search is pathetic, even if you could potentially get two cards out of it.
Either it would have the have been top 5 or 6 cards for the same cost or cost 1 less for the same effect.

Lead the Stampede from Mirrodin Besieged does a much better job even without the land.
So yeah, depending on your format and deck, you may want to look into one of these other ones for the effect. Perhaps even Cream of the Crop if you've got big enough creatures.

I'm always a little sad when people think of this one poorly. Really, in most green decks you'll play, you'll always get two cards from this. After all: about half your deck is land, and most likely, at least 24 or so of your 60 will be creatures playing mono-green. Not only that, but you get a good bit of quality selection too. Don't bash it till you've tried it, I'd say.

I feel like many people are missing a very important part about this card:
It says "creature card and/or a land card".

In a creature-heavy deck, this will usually be a more powerful green Divination with sifting.
Granted, you might prefer to draw two nonland cards, but you have no means to prevent getting one land or even two with Divination either, and you can look twice as deep to find the best land and creature among those top four cards.
