With the new Scars of Mirrodin set out, artifact heavy decks could slip one or two slashers in. I think this is better than a 2.5 I'm seeing right now. Could be a solid 3/1 in many instances.

Does anyone else kinda get reminded of Cobra Commander from GI Joe's?

Reminiscent of the Nim cards from the original Mirrodin block, which got a +1/+0 boost for each artifact you controlled. While not very good themselves, they led to the infamous Cranial Plating.

I agree with both 2pcsofcandy and SavageBrain89, yet i'd love to play this card in a deck wtih eight Baubles (4 Urza's Baubles and 4 Mishra's Baubles, both of them are free "slowtrips" with a minor effect).
You can't imagine how i would have loved this guy as one-drop...

While it's true he is a strange duck among most of the other Esper cards, he's great in limited as a two-mana drop that can range anywhere from efficient to insanely huge depending on how long the game's been going on.

I'd go with Slag Fiend.

Doesn't semm to make much sense to me. Esper decks are all about control and massive flying creatures. This guy (at its best) is just a high power creature with little protection from burn and removal. While its true that there may be some combo potential with this guy there are plenty of other cards with way better combo potential.

Cool theme, cool art, awesome flavor...bad functionality. :(

Meh, he works well with Salvage Titan.
