Compare to Char, Flame Javelin is better for mono-red. Char however is easier to splash without the increase of mana cost.

Mono-blue doesn't need this, we have Psionic Blast. Anyway, this is a great card for mono red, in any other deck (unless i guess you're trying to put it in mono-white or something) you're probably better off with Char.

Beast in a mono-red burn or sligh deck. A little expensive at 3 mana, but personally I find that burn decks with a few 3 mana "finishers" give the deck strong turns 3 and 4.
