What a waste of a cool idea, good picture and great flavor text. At 4CC, this thing is ludicrously overpriced. I mean, for 3CC I could even make an allowance for it as a combat trick, but this is brutal.

I will say that the one practical application I can see is against people who use huge amounts of deathtouch in their decks. This will let you kill the creature as a combat trick and not lose your own guy.

1/5

I like -X/-0 cards. Now if only they were more useful... well, at least this one has nice art.

@Gaussgoat: I just have to say this, because when I read your post I wondered at first why you said this cost 6 mana. It is CMC. Converted Mana Cost. Just a single C is R&D shorthand for "mana of X color." If a card cost 4CC, then it could be {4}{G}{G}, {4}{B}{B}, and probably even {4}{R}{U}. So you could refer to this as a 4 CMC or a 3C card. Either way, it's best if we all use the same terminology and shorthand.

This is one of those cards that a new player might really like, because there are huge creatures out there, and it'd be fun to go "well, it's now a 0/x and doesn't do any damage." But then they get better at the game, learn about Gatherer and find all of these other cards like Fog or Diminish that essentially do the same thing, and find out that it's better to just Doom Blade the offending creature most of the time anyway.

That's a pretty big combat trick, but I think Histerical Blindness is a generally better effect.

This is a common that was never intended to see the light of day outside of limited. Hell, it probably wasn't even intended to be used much in limited either, but I can guarantee that the quality of this card was intentional.

Blue isn't dead, wizards just put this in the set to prevent blue from completely dominating the limited meta-game.

If only it was an Aura with Flash... Then it would be semi-useful

3 mana for -6/-0 would've been fine with me...

The art is a dragon, and 6 power Dragons are usually played more than 7 Powered...

The only way to make this fair is to make it cost just as much as Righteousness. Blue

Why does WoTC keep printing cards like this? Bewilder, Stream of Unconsciousness, Ego Erasure, Constricting Tendrils, They're never useful in any format. At least Dizzy Spell could Transmute.

The only way to make use out of it is by multi-blocking your opponent's fattie, then casting this on it. But if you like playing defensive combat tricks, why not just play Righteousness?
