i think what people need to remember is that this puts the card you want in your "hand" not "on top of your library"- very important.

3 things: 1) Stop comparing it with Demonic Tutor, which is never going to get reprinted. 2) You get the card in your hand, not on top of your library. 3) You don't have to reveal the card.

The artwork for this card is one of my favorites in the game. The expression on the guy's face is delightfully rendered.

Also, I agree that this is a perfectly acceptable card and that Demonic Tutor was ridiculous. I'd run at least two of this in any deck that could; who doesn't want to find exactly what they need, when they need it?

This is a little too balanced. I find Diabolic Tutor too slow even for most casual games. When I can get away with it, I will run Beseech the Queen despite it's restricted selection, as the reduction of one mana really makes a difference.

I really wish Wizards would reprint Grim Tutor.

Powerful card, but a bit too expensive to be used seriously in competitive. Mostly releagated to casual and EDH.

JackP, this card is not horrible. Just because demonic tutor was ill-conceived, and completely broken, a version that is closer to fair is not horrible. In fact, this card is quite versatile, letting you grab the exact spell for the moment, whether it be an important creature, a combo piece, or a timely destruction spell.

By far one of my favorite card graphics.

Yes this card is great for those of us who can't spend 100 dollars a week on Magic.

The solid 'where's my game breaker card?' finder.

people should really stop rating cards so badly because there are better cards out there. you guys need to think about standard play when rating cards. every one knows cards like time walk are amazing but they are not standard legal. this card is good for what it does depending on the format you play in.
