Mattress: No it does not; if it was, the type line would say Land — Mountain Forest (i.e. Taiga or Stomping Ground )

I totally agree with ChaoticNature. IMO, the M10 dual lands are WAY better than the "pain lands". If you are playing 2 or 3 colors, then you will most likely have one of the 2 necessary basic lands in play anyway. So, it won't be coming into play tapped. If you are playing 4 or 5 colors, then you're probably going to be focusing on other lands that can produce all 5 colors anyway. The M10 lands are the closest you can get to the original dual lands.

Huh, the only reason I can see this being rated higher for its M10 printing than either the M11 or M12 printings is the fact that Jund and Naya were legal during this time period. A good reason, too, because most decks during the Alara-Zendikar standard demanded flexible manabases, and this is a very flexible land for decks that like to cast Bloodbraid Elf.

I think of rootbound crag as being much better than pain lands, yes if you have a bad draw it comes into play tapped, but that only is going to make a difference 1 out of 10 times, and is easily fixed via adding other dual lands like stomping grounds. The chances of you drawing multiple rootbound crags and no forests/stomping grounds seems unlikely, at worst your not playing your birds of paradise on turn 1. All those one damage hits from using colored mana on dual lands like yavimaya coast add up.

Probably because the Grove is being brought back in a future set, besides these new lands can still be useful.

I opened a pack of M10 with this as the rare, and hrm there's a foil at the back... It's a foil version of the same card.

30 dollar pack ftw

I love the M10 duals, I don't know why some people say they suck. Perhaps because they suck as players. Understand that for a deck running two colors ONLY, they are BETTER than pain lands. The only way a Karplusan Forest is better than this is if the deck runs some OTHER color(s) besides R/G. Simple as that.
