Balance is insulted that you'd even mention Parallax Wave in the same sentence as it.

Of course, what makes this card ridiculous is its two mana cost. With that, you can play it basically whenever it would benefit you. This alone deserves a 4.5/5, but the new art pushes it up to 5/5.

I would almost want to splash white into a Madness / Hellbent deck just so that I could combo this with One With Nothing.

Also, a Barren Glory-based deck could benefit from this, since it won't have many permanents out anyway.

Turn 1: discard It that betrays
turn 2: Play a swamp
Turn 3: Play a Plain, Animate Dead It That Betrays
Turn 4: Play Balance then play your land.

Hellcarver Demon.
Scroll Rack to Put Balance second from the top the turn you drop Hellcarver.
Pa-ss. Pray Hellcarver doesn't get CK'd. They pa-ss. Draw a card that isn't balance. Attack and deal damage, reveal Balance and 5 of whatever else you can imagine. Like It That Betrays before the Balance.

I believe you've just won.

too bad it's banned, would've made a pretty crazy WB Pox deck...wait. Nevermind...that'd be too nuts. This guy should not be reprinted.

This card is nuts. It kills your opponents board advantage, screws mana ramping decks, and sets back decks that draw lots of cards. If you are running artifact mana sources (mana vault, sol ring, khalni gen, moxs) this hits your opponents lands even harder. This has to be my favorite card of all time. 5/5 for sure.
