A really neat card in terms of flavor, it's limitations make it hard to use.

I want to put this in a deck just because I like the art, and because you don't see Gargoyles very often. It might work in a blue artifact deck with Training Grounds.

this guy kinda fits into a overgrown battlement + genesis wave + metalcraft deck. fills the defender clause and is a backup flying beater if it needs to be.

I agree: flavor is right on target. The ability (and/or casting cost) is slightly high for an artifact (the second-most hated on permanent type) creature (the most hated on permanent type). However, I hope that WOTC focuses on the Gargoyle creature type a little more...I like the idea of magical flying stone-creature. Somewhat like Golems, yet not nearly as explored. Color-wise, gargoyles fit white very well, due to being traditionally defense against evil spirits on buildings/structures. Of course, I also agree that they can be colorless, or even just about any color other than green (because they're not natural).

Kinda funny that black blue and red creatures don't usually have a p/t cost ratio this good (even though it has defender)

In casual m11 constructed, I use just one of these in my blue/black control deck, along with Barony Vampire, Nether Horror, Child of Night and Liliana's Specter. It has a better P/T for its cmc than any of my black creatures, and its colourless cost makes it really easy to cast in a dual-colour deck. Also the flavour is awesome.

Well that's true, but If I'm looking for an efficient colorless beater I just turn to my old favorite, phyrexian ironfoot. Oh wait, its not in extended any more... *cries in corner*

This one doesn't seem too horrible. Yes it is a 3/3 defender for 3. Waste some more mana and get him to fly for a turn.... That's ok too...But not great. I guess if you're into creatures that cant be forced to attack against say..... A Deathtouch creature with Lure then you are in the clear. For that circumstance alone is why he is useful... Nothing else... if he was a 2/2 and was indestructable for 4 or 5 CMC with the same ability, I think he would see more play...But as of now....NO WAY!!!

This would be great if it had flying base. As is, not so much.
