I for one like that there's at least one card that makes goblins look intimidating. They shouldn't just be the pratfalling Benny Hill cops of Magic. Goblins are obviously a warlike people, and the occasional card should emphasize that.

Goblins seem to be the most cost-effective creatures in red.

Good in draft if you can get a lot of goblins such, and if you have any card drawing, like Temple Bell, its even better. Not so good in sealed though, I find your less likely to get enough playable goblins to make this good.

Sorry, Infernox, you can't, because he only has haste ("this card is unaffected by summoning sickeness") while this is on the field, and therefore he will not have haste by the time you declare your "declare attackers" step.

This and his good friend Boggart Mob are very happy togeather. :3 You can get them out on turn 1 to if you go second. Just play your Mountan, use 2 Rite of Flame, play Warren Instigator, use a Lightning Greaves on Warren and cheat this guy and Boggart Mob into play! :D

First of all a must have for any goblin deck, great card hands down.
What I wanted to say though was the flavor text is just awesome. I'm sick of
seeing all these goblin cards with corny, stupid text on the bottom. Goblins aren't as stupid
as WOTC make them out to be.

Maybe the Goblin Chieftain stayed in school and learned to wax eloquently upon his race's prerogative to destroy everything (and themselves)?

@blurrymadness - it doesn't obsolete anything. Warchief to a small degree but the 1 less is still worth having him around. The King and Chieftain in play together give your Goblins +2/+2, haste and mountainwalk. Chieftain gets +1/+1 and mountainwalk. King gets +1/+1 and haste. All the better for Flinging and other such Goblin activities.

@DacenOctavio: No, it isn't strictly better, because Haste and Mountainwalk are not the same thing. He's better, but strictly better means that he's numerically superior in every way. Lightning Bolt is strictly better than Shock because they are identical except that the Bolt does an additional damage. This is not strictly better than Goblin King because sometimes (rarely) Mountainwalk is actually the better option.

@RobRam89
YES, they truly are cost effective, when it comes to deck building & playing it. I mean, you could get a set of 4 of this card for about $5 at most.

The tribes open to Red, in order of relevance and playability:

1. Goblins (Goblin Guide, Goblin Bushwhacker, other fun stuff)
2. Dragons (Classics such as Shivan Dragon, Bogardan Hellkite, and Dragonstorm)
3. Elementals (Ball freaking Lightning)
4. Warriors
5. Giants
6. Dwarves
7. Minotaurs. (Lord of Shatterskull Pass)
