This is not the reprint of Wayfarer's Bauble I was asking for.

First, I love the art. While I like the effect, I love drawing cards. Do you wait until the third turn so that you can have your cake and eat it too? Maybe play a Copper Myr in the meantime?

I don't think it's best of the cycle. Its land tutoring is somewhat costly, and there's not much need for mana fixing in set limited. But at the end of day, every bomb will do for metalcraft.

Not too impressive, but probably the best spellbomd in this set

Note for everyone that cares: YOU DRAW BEFORE SEARCHING. If you pay the G for the trigger, you will get the card off the top, then search and shuffle. This matters in a format with Jace and other things that let you see your top card.

Don't be afraid to draw these off-color in limited. Besides fixing your mana, it can also ease you into metalcraft.

Wayfarer's Bauble puts the land directly into play tapped. The extra draw-a-card effect on spellbomb requires an extra mana. I'll stick with the Bauble.

One gets the impression that this card got the nerf-stick hard because of the combined aggressiveness and combo-osity of Zendikar and the original Mirrodin. Compare to Wayfarer's Bauble and Lay of the Land. It's really funny that this is the closest thing to a ramp effect green has in this set; between that and the Myr having outsourced its mana-elves to other colors, green has almost no advantage in the mana race, which is extremely bizarre.

If it went to the battlefield tapped, this card would be hundreds of times more playable than it is now. It doesn't ramp your mana it just thins out a deck. bad bad bad. could have been good but just bad
