With green's arsenal of sweet combat tricks (Mutagenic Growth, Moonmist, Withstand Death etc.) its really hard to complain about sorcery speed. For just Green, this is a VERY efficient and deadly removal spell that turns the tables on weenies, dorks and flyers that can haunt green in the usual meta.

Glad to see green getting treated so well in Innistrad. Bravo Wizards.

I love this card's name in the French set, "Chasseur chassé." It means "Hunted Hunter."

Very strong too in combination with an Infect creature you control... If you can't kill a problematic creature your opponent controls, at least you may put some -1/-1 counter on it...

In this state of mind, Rot Wolf is a cheap, simple, green common creature that fits perfectly with Prey Upon. Phyrexian Crusader can be very attractive against the right color... Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon seems good too, or the cheaper and common Tel-Jilad Fallen against artifact creature...

I'm thinking a deck featuring Protean Hydra would be nice. You'll do damage to me, and you'll like it. Can bring back the Predatory Urge to add more FIght-style mechanic to the deck, even if that card sucks compared to this.

Also, deathtouch creatures.

@Kingflover: Whether a creature is tapped makes no difference for Prey Upon; that does not prevent it from dealing or receiving damage from fighting.

Tapping or untapping a creature doesn't stop it from dealing combat damage either (you appear to think it does). Of course, tapped creatures can't attack or block in the first place, but changing the tapped/untapped status of a creature that's already attacking or blocking does not affect its combat damage in any way.

By the way, rules questions are better asked in the Rules Q&A forum. They'll be noticed a lot sooner (minutes rather than weeks), and generally by more knowledgeable people.

@Arachibutyrophobia: I presume by "bounced" you mean "blocked," which are two very different things and completely change whether your story is cool or a rules violation.

@Jaybird75: Yes. Why wouldn't it? A non-flyer without reach can't block flyers, but there's nothing in this card that says anything about attacking and blocking or flying/nonfliers. They just deal their damage to each other. You can also have a Protection from, say, Red creature you control fight that Red creature across the board you really want to destroy; just because that creature wouldn't normally be able to block the creature doesn't mean the fight mechanic won't work.

Amazing card. It's Green creature removal that is in-theme with the color. I like it.

@realitant: No, it doesn't work with trample. It does, however, work with deathtouch.

How has Phyrexian Oblitorator not come up yet?

Splash this card in with woodland cemetery and BOOM, when Oblit is out you have a 5/5 trample and then this card has another creature deal its power to the Oblit which triggers its ability and makes them hurt a lot.

Requires a little bit in terms of your opponent using bigger creatures, but i have seen variants of Beast within + this combo to ensure a threat lost, and then use the power of the token as an asset.

For the record:
Deathtouch, Wither, and Infect all work with Prey Upon.
First Strike, Double Strike, and anything that says "combat damage" do not.
