What is Lucius Malfoy doing on Mirrodin?

This guy's flavor, along with all the unfinished business on Mirrodin (Karn might help if he fixes up the rest of the oil, Urabrask comtemplating the Mirrans' dilemma, Melira healing people) makes me wonder if Wizards had a reason for tradmarking Mirrodin Pure.

Use him as my EDH general and LOVE him. My favorite combo is to put Konda's Banner on him with a Spirit Mantle and an Inquisitor's Flail.

An unblockable 11/7 that deals double damage (Happens to be over 21 too).

No Spirit Mantle? No Problem, just cast Seize the Day on him and flashback it for another opponent next turn.

Huh. This guy contradicts the flavor text on Dispense Justice. He is clearly an Accorder, and he clearly strikes first: he has First Strike.

"As long as my hand holds this Nuisance Engine, there's hope for a pure Mirrodin once again."
~Paraphrased Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer

I really like this guy, I also kinda like that it seems like everyone hated him to death in standard because it means that I found a set of 4 foils of him for a whopping $1 American. Happy day for me! :P

Incredible Red/White General, the kind of damage this guy can throw around has to be seen to be believed.

Something nice about Jor is that he synergises well with cards already likely to be in a Commander deck anyway. Lightning Greaves, Sol Ring, Swiftfoot Boots.

I like to play him with a lot of mana acceleration artifacts and creatures like Boros Signet and Iron Myr/Gold Myr, and creatures that either themselves benefit from metalcraft or Jor's passive ability (think Auriok Edgewright, Bloodshot Trainee or Hearthfire Hobgoblin.

Token makers are also extremely vicious with the extra 3 power and luckily white is full of cards you could stick in the deck. Myrsmith Increasing Devotion Conqueror's Pledge. If the game runs on and you have ... (see all)

5/4 first strike for 5 CMC in limited would be great. 8/4 first strike with metalcraft is amazing. Giving all your other guys +3/0 is a game ender.

Less devastating in constructed, but still has the potential to be very good in the right deck.

Not every legendary has to be central to the story, or even appear in the story beyond a cameo. Sometimes, a creature is legendary because they want an effect that they don't want multiples of on the 'field.

Jor Kadeen is clearly a member of the remaining Mirran resistance, obviously in a leadership role, possibly a field commander. He's not in charge of the outfit (that's Melira), he's not concerned with the defense of the survivors (Melira again), he's focused on striking back against the Phyrexians, fervently believing that they still have a chance to reclaim their world.

I got all that solely from reading the card.

With this guy and Melira leading the resistance, and Urabrask backing them as support, there is no way that Wizards isn't coming back to this plane in the future.

If you're running monowhite equipment, this guy makes splashing red definitely worth it. With Goblin Gaveleer, Galavonic Blast and Hellkite Igniter already in the block, if you weren't already doing this, you have little excuse not to now.

@IntrnetHte

I guess "backing" is a strong word choice. He's definitely harboring them. I think I read somewhere that he's the least "devout" of the praetors. Maybe he'll defect. I just know that flavor-wise, he doesn't seem very Phyrexian (i'm talking about the card) and red is the least corrupted color as far as infect goes.

If you hadn't realized, this guy is probably THE BEST Red White general there is. I've played a few others. Brion Stoutarm is darn fun (especially in a dedicated Giant theme deck), but it is incredible how ridiculous this guy can be.

White Sun's Zenith and Martial Coup are some of this guy's best friends. Play the Zenith at the end step of the turn right before yours, and swing in with 5/2 cats. That doesn't count any other pumps you might get with... Glorious Anthem, or (my favorite) Marshal's Anthem... BUT. The absolute best move you can make.

Elemental Mastery.

Drop Elemental Mastery on Kadeen, and you've got 8 4/1 Elementals with Haste, and you don't have to worry about losing creatures. Or maybe the game hasn't treated you so well yet. And you are on the back foot. Holding Kadeen back, and tapping to make 8 4/1 blockers sounds like a... (see all)
