This + Battletide Alchemist (and 2 other clerics, easy in a cleric deck) = :D

It quotes Reya.

That alone makes it awesome.

Like Equal Treatment, except it only reduces damage. Nifty.

The non-suck version of Forethought Amulet.

Of note is that this doesn't technically prevent damage, it creates a replacement effect. This means someone can Banefire you for eleventy-billion and you'll still only take 4.

For fairly good creature management/lockdown, put a few of these and a few Reverence into your deck, then toss in a few Meekstone for flavor. Sure it won't prevent you from blocking multiple sources of damage, but for only eight mana the three of those together are fairly nice. All you would need after that is some shroud and some damage prevention, both of which white are strong with. Is this the best deck ever? No, of course not, but it is still fun to mess around with.

Arachobia's Name-Based Comments: Divine

Second highest rated 'Divine' card at time of writing. And I can see why.

I love continuous white damage reduction/prevention. I know for an opponent it can be a pain to deal with.

This one requires a bit more strategy to be usable. 3 damage directly is still a fair amount. It does add at least 2 more hits for your opponent to kill you. I think where this shine is in protecting creatures with 4 or more toughness indefinitely. White can play defensively, and a clump of defender creatures with 4 toughness and this in play will cause a real hassle for you opponent. Just make sure you can block all there creatures or gain at least 4 life a turn and you can keep alive for quite a while. I haven't used this card before, but now I see it I think I might just want to.
