For much of Masques/Invasion standard and Invasion Block Constructed - until Apocalypse hit the stores, anyway - this was the backbone of the only viable control-based alternative to Fires of Yavimaya, blue skies, and rebels. Still solid in casual play to this day, especially in multiplayer.

This card is a backbone of most of my "super-defensive" decks, and I'll often include some of the old or new basic-duals (that is, Bayou/Overgrown Tomb style) just go get it up to 5 mana.
5 mana is an insane commitment to make, and while many decks spare *some* thought for enchantment removal, they often won't put in enough to reliably draw it when they need it. WUG make good colors for enchantment-defense based play, combining this with Ghostly Prison, Propaganda and Sterling Grove (Greater Auramancy is ok, but there's no doubt that Sterling Grove is the better enchantment-shrouder). Throw in Enchanted Evening and you've given shroud to all your permanents and more or less can't be attacked.
It's just a pity that they can still attack planeswalkers. Jace v2 could win soooo many games easily behind this card!

With the insanity that is 5-color Shadowmoor and Prismatic Omen, this card is much better than it ever has been. There are a handful of cards that shut down all attackers, not as many that shut down just those attacking you. Red and black aggro decks don't typically have a way to deal with enchantments; vampires, suicide black and goblins can be stopped in their tracks at turn three or four with this card.

Eldrazi? They're not going to be able to cast Eldrazi. Any deck that runs Colelctive Restraint should also run Global Ruin. Making it impossible for most decks to send ANY creature your way.
