I find it sort of funny that in hindsight, this 3/1 rare was actually just french vanilla.

Awesome art, flash AND haste seems a little redundant, but I suppose it actually could make this card more flexible...

Overall, not as great as some other "Damage Spell Creatures" we have today, (Hell's Thunder, Hellspark Elemental and such) but still pretty cool. 5/5 for being an old card and having cool art.

While Flash and Haste are kind of anti-synergistic, this guy used to get play. He could do a lot, was in the right colors, at the right time. This was definitely the sleeper rare of invasion.

He's more of a damage spell than a creature, funnily enough.

I'm normally a pretty by-the-books rules-junkie, but I just can't help myself here:

Haste = Can attack on the turn it is played.
Flash = Can be played on your opponent's turn.
Haste + Flash = Can attack on your opponent's turn if it is played on that turn.

Anti-synergistic? No, that's so much synergy that it (almost) invents a game mechanic! My only question (aside from "WHY U NO WORK?!") is exactly who would have the option of declaring it as an attacker.

I will try this in casual and see which of my friends calls me on it being illegal, although I'm pretty sure I already know.

@Ragamandar
It doesn't work because you don't have a combat step on an opponent's turn, so you never get a prompt to declare attackers.
Eventually they'll slip up and print a Relentless Assault that you can Vedalken Orrery out on the opponent's main phase and swing in at the wrong time, but till then, just bide your time.

The ultimate in versatility when it comes to creatures that effectively have no abilities. Play whenever, attack whenever (assuming it's your turn to attack).
