Wonderful artwork, remember kids although that {1}{B} untap requirement looks like a disadvantage, it can be turned into an advantage when used with cards that would stay tapped such as Spectral Force or Phyrexian Colossus (granted you could still pay 8 life instead but sometimes {1}{B} is better. Just remember though, that although you get a nice fatty from a graveyard that Dance of the Dead makes it more susceptible to removal. For example, a Platinum Angel enchanted with Dance of the Dead is susceptible to things like Doom Blade, Naturalize but also things like Demystify (if you target Dance of the Dead)

A solid alternative to Reanimate for really large fatties that make the life hit you would take more significant than usual.

Unfortunately, no. The patriarch's ability triggers when you cast it, and Dance of the Dead doesn't let you cast it from your graveyard, it just returns it from your graveyard to the battlefield.

One of my favorite pieces of artwork for a black card, ever. +1/+1 Animate Dead with vigilance isn't too shabby either, hah.
This card works wonders in a mill deck, as you basically get your pick of any of your opponents creatures AND they are more powerful than usual. Drop this thing on a Platinum Angel and watch the other guy turn shades of green...
