If this were an instant, it could still see some use despite Concentrate. But yea, it's strictly worse.
Look at the rating for Rhystic Study before making that kind of statement though.

Rhystic cards are pretty bad, and this is among the worst, thanks to Concentrate.

I'm trying to think of a reason to use this card since Concentrate is so much more useful. The only thing I can think of is using it in a dredge deck as a 6 CMC (you pay the extra 2) way of getting the right cards into your graveyard without losing card advantage. That's all I've got though.

Very underrated card, especially early on in the game, accelerates your darwing quite nicely.

Play this in a deck that does not mind discarding. Even if opponent has untapped mana its not killing you.

You don't have to discard the cards that you drew with this spell if they pay 2. Bait them into tapping out and resolve the spell you really wanted to play :)

It's never going to work at Worlds, but all kinds of derpy cards are so much more playable against.....umm....opponents that are bad at Magic xP
