Iconic. Not exactly a good thing, but still iconic.

Trained Planeswalkers know to steer away from this card. Much better options in red for {6R} such as Hamletback Goliath is stricly better assuming you neglect the usefulness of the Beast creature subtype.

One of my favourite cards ever, together with Vizzerdrix!

However... How can an Orgg lose trample after training???

training does not, however, teach an orgg any useful abilities. Trample would have at least let him see some play in kitchen table settings.

This or a Shivan Dragon.... wait, I'm thinking...

Yuck, what a poor card.

I remember playing with this guy. I don't remember him being a terrible rare, though.

oh the days of magic past...I remember being a kid when this came out and was all "dude, it's a 6/6 with no drawback!" oh how the times have changed...

@tcollins Not strictly better just because of the creature type! Imagine if your opponent had Mind Control you'll be wishing you played a Trained Orgg

I have fond memories of this card. The deck my friend used contained at least 3 of these, and he beat me with it repeatedly. But that was back before either of us knew a darned thing about magic. My friend thought that the text on older lands (tap, add Red to your mana pool or what-have-you) meant that he got to tap that land to search his library. So he tapped a mountain to go search for a mountain. Yes, we were stupid back then. And that his how he beat me with his Orggs.

Gatherer works better in the Companion app!
