This guy is too good at pretty much every possible strategy other than combo.
Block and gain life. Attack and remain unblocked (since your opponent doesn't want to lose all their creatures). Attack and kill a blocker. Seeing this guy across the board is one of the worst feelings available.

Forget a Vampire deck, this card sweeps the board in any deck that utilizes black. A 2/3 with flying for its mana cost would have been nice but then they decided to be all generous and throw deathtouch and lifelink on it. So he wittles down your opponent with his evasion ability, can take out creatures in a pinch with his second ability, and of course do his part to prevent you from losing the game by fetching you life. This card is the definition of multi-tasking.

If you opened this in a Zendikar draft, you slam picked it. You didn't even look at the rest of the pack except the rare, because the only things you took over this were Malakir Bloodwitch, and Sorin Markov. That was it. Sometimes you even took this over Sorin, because that's how fast the format was. In M13, you should still first pick it over almost anything, save Mind Control or a bomb rare.
Astoundingly good card, one of the best creatures ever printed. It's just a solid, solid card. Glad to see it in M13, hopefully it gets more reprints in the years to come.

One of the worst things to see across the board from you in all but vintage.
You WILL lose a card (or more) to it or you WILL quickly lose the game (except combo decks.) A 4 life swing gets out of control fast, especially when he's seen in decks that are tearing apart your hand and battlefield. MBC is scariest when combined with this unholy monster.
Good enough for main-board whenever legal, worth sideboarding if he's not part of your strategy as he will hamper another's strategy efficiently.

Played with this guy for the first time in Friday night's prerelease. He won many matches for me, including one where I had 2 life and my opponent had 26. Pretty ridiculous for a 3 drop at uncommon. I'll be drafting this guy every chance I get
