This, + Sliver Queen, + the sliver that gives slivers "tap, do 1 damage", + a haste sliver, and you have infinite damage to infinite targets.
Not hard at all. Plus the added bonus that people think youre playing a sliver deck before they suddenly die on the ~5th turn without you ever attacking.

I'd give it a 5 because one of my favorite combo decks to play is Fecluster (Fecundity + Saproling Cluster + Ashnod's Altar), but this card is really only good for combo decks.

Got army of saprolings?
Got Blaze?
Good.

I can see this having the most use in a Jund deck with Sprouting Thrinaxes, Disintegrates, Dragon Appeasements, and Ivy Elemental, for good measure.

Infinite colorless mana with Ashnod's Altar, and three Karmic Guides, thow in a Farrelite Priest if you want white mana.

Why would I use this with Sliver Queen when I can use Basal Sliver?

This is one of the best sacrifice outlets in the game, just probably not for slivers.

I can't believe this version is a common. I finally get to run this in a pauper deck :-)

@endersblade: It is not common. It is uncommon. The card is from Antiquities set and they did not have that golden and silver rarity markings back in the days...

What comes in the card itself... I just love it. It makes good use to early game creatures you can use later to get big hitters earlyer to game. Since the activation is free, you can also use it to sacrafice the target before your opponent gets something extra by targeting your creature (like life points). It also negates lifelink creatures from sucking the fun out of your small blockers or attackers.

Never underestimate the power of extra mana or the power to dictate when your creatures die.

Back in the day, Ornithopter + Enduring Renewal + Ashnod's Altar was high-tech combo. You could fuel a 1,000-mana Lava Burst and make a kick-the-ouphe joke while you kicked your opponent in the shin, under the table. Good times.

Sacrifice a creature for 2 colourless without any silly drawback? 3 mana cost only? Thats insane! A must have in any token generating deck or decks that use lots of X damage burn spells. Works best if you are artifact heavy on small creatures like Ornithopter

@mrredhatter

Waste of time.

Enduring Renewal, a 0 drop plus this and you're done.
