So lovely! The only "bad thing" I can think about this card is the fact that it's a sorcery rather than an instant, and of course the fact that it's multicolored (but in the guilds of Ravnica setting, that's barely a drawback). Otherwise it's a very reliable removal spell for only two mana, that's good.
It does lack the ability to hit players, but can potentially hit big creatures for only 2cmc.

This fits into a ramp strategy with ease since X sweepers like Magmaquake for ground troops and Gruul Charm for air are already taking care of the small guys.

A card that doesn't look splashable from it's mana cost but actually is because you'll want to use it late in the game to take out a fatty.

Spitting Earth that doesn't care about what lands you play seems pretty decent.
Most cards like Spitting Earth usually ask you to run them with a particular kind of lands, but this one doesn't restrict you at all - which also makes casting this easier.
When cast early, it can still shock utility creatures.
When cast later, it can even kill fatties.
Looks like an excellent removal spell for Commander decks.
(I also like how the card is named Ground Assault yet isn't restricted to nonflying creatures for once.)

How is this so low? Are people really that scared by having to use sorceries?
Red and Green really do need cards capable of slapping down big creatures, as opposed to stockpiling burn.
