Is 8 muscle slivers really necessary?

While drafting, if you are in green you still want to pick this up even if its the only sliver in your deck. At its worst its still a bear. And bears are good, clean, effective limited creatures.

I prefer the Alien Sliver over the Predator Sliver

All of the new slivers are quite Predator-y.

This sort of thing is the reason that people hate slivers. Now, I'm never the type to complain about good commons (pauper ftw), but the fact that this IS common skews sealed so hard. I like how ridiculous Slivers can get. They're fun. I don't want to default to them in Sealed just because more than two of these guys in your packs means Slivers is the best deck you can build.

You might have been really stoked on blue fliers or BW enchantment control as possible limited archetypes, but enough Slivers just means that you play Slivers if you want to play your best deck.

Pauper Slivers can now run twelve 2-drop lords... Sinew Sliver, Muscle Sliver, and this...

MtG's Slivers occationally felt a bit like Pokémon's Dragons to me.
It's like they were super effective against each other, since all their boosts would also apply to the hostile Slivers.

Muscle Sliver for example would be the most obvious choice for a double-edged sword in a mirror match.

Predatory Sliver doesn't give me the same feel, which is why for some reason when i imagine him,
he feels weaker to me even though i know he's superior in a singleplayer game.

The old Slivers were like: "The... *flinches* power...! It's... *bends head to the side* too strong!! I can't control it!"
The evolved Slivers are like: "I got this. Let's do things in moderation when necessary."

Unfortunately didn't get enough of these to make a viable deck during prerelease. Otherwise, I would've been quoting that damn movie throughout every match. "GET TO THE CHOPPAH!"

I want to play with slivers simply because I enjoy all of MTG's cards, but I wish they would think more on the effect of making a third "muscle" sliver. It really was NOT necessary. I really don't like the "you control" clause of the new slivers. I wish they had just reprinted muscle sliver and winged sliver with new art and upped their status to uncommon. Too late now though... *sigh*
