Very quality card. You will almost always have a substantial target in the right deck and is just powerful enough to team up with a buddy for a quality block.

Disentomb and Unsummon seem like fun targets.

I remember once I was playing against someone in MTGO in the Planeswalker format. I had basically no response to their 5/5 jace's phantasm, except to use archaeomancer to reduce my graveyard size to 9 :)

Very annoying to play against. Played against one guy that used it to cast time warp multiple times and another guy that used it on big burn cards.

Call to Mind on a stick.

Usually putting things on sticks makes them better.

I don't want to see Blue do this very often though. I mean YES, Blue's creatures are not for 'beating', but...Blue is supposed to be more about its NON-creature spells. It can do irreparable damage to Blue if they copy Green's style too much! I'd like Blue creatures to have effects that you don't get on Blue spells, thus giving you a reason to play them, rather than just build the obvious All Non-Creatures Recursion deck that Blue adds cards to every single set. :)

I LIKE the All-Non-Creatures Recursion theme in Blue, and feel it needs to be reinforced by going back to Call to Mind. Let Deadeye Navigator do things with Invisible Stalker or whatever, and have that be 'Blue Creatures do this', but please don't give us too many effects on Blue creatures that we had very fine Blue spells doing already. :P

Put it this way: We do NOT want Divination to become a Creatur... (see all)

Sickeningly good with Ghostly Flicker.

I really liked this card back in m13 limited, it was a lot of fun and could do some really disgusting things with Switcheroo, as well as the old Unsummon infinite blocker combo. It also had some very powerful effects to get back like sleep or Talrand's Invocation.

I think it will be a bit worse in m14 limited though. Its just not quite as combo-licious. Its still fine... getting a doom blade or flames of the firebrand is damn near back breaking for your opponent. But it definitly lost a lot of its best interactions.

Budget Snapcaster Mage, kinda. Obviously not as good, but definitely playable in limited.

Play it in a flicker deck with Ghostly Flicker and sage's row denizen .
This card is good because it almost always got something to do.
My only wish is that it would be a 2/2 instead of a 1/2, because this body is just too small.
Still 3.5/5

This guy is ridiculous in draft. You can use it to get back a key removal spell or Cancel, or you can go the whole way and get back an Opportunity. I've done it - there's not much better of a way to gain control of a game in UB or UR. You'll draw at least one removal spell, a blocker or threat, maybe some lands or an enchantment. If you draft well, this creature is exactly what you want.

I wish this was a 1/3 instead of a 1/2. Otherwise, great budget Snapcaster.
