He kinda reminds me of the Auriok. Gee, I wonder how Mirrodin is doing, sure hope nothing bad has happened to them...

I got the Auriok resemblance too.

Anyway, really, really meh. There are a lot of better options even in limited.

Hey, hey, the whole point of this fella here and all the other miscellaneous vanillas in the set is to tell the story of "The Champion" through The Theriad. It's a cool idea at least.

3/5 Giant for {3}{W}{W}? Unless there's a tribal option here, he's kinda "meh".

I thought the same thing, Purplerooster (Purple...are win kin-mates? O:) until I thought about it a bit more and realized that a strictly worse Siege Mastodon is not actually strictly worse in a format with devotion. And as a 5-drop, the slightly tougher mana cost is unlikely to matter most of the time. Really smart way of supporting devotion decks in limited on Wizards' part, and on a vanilla common, too!

Yes, there's a seemingly unnecessary extra W mana in its cost, even for limited. Has everyone forgotten about devotion already, though?

When I first saw this card, I didn't notice his lower body, and kept thinking it's a hovering Giant torso.

That guy looks like a refugee from Mirrodin. Perhaps Elspeth took him with her when she fled what would become New Phyrexia. Makes me wonder if we're going to see a Phyrexian invasion of Theros later in this block, though probably not.
