Theran fortune cookies are kind of a downer. "'You will die, and someone will profit from it?' That was my fortune last time!"

The real beauty in this card is that it triggers Heroic, not to mention that Return to Ravnica gave us Sphere of Safety and Ethereal Armor.

@OrgasmandTea: Unfortunately, the controller of the enchanted creature draws the card, not the controller of the enchantment (usually it would be the controller of the enchantment, but this one specifically says the creature's controller gets the card)

Makes an interesting start to the game with Alchemist's Apprentice.

This reminds me a lot of Bequeathal, and is pretty good with the Heroic mechanic. It was probably a good call to have it's controller draw the card rather than "you draw a card" - otherwise you could just enchant an opposing creature and then kill it.

slap to this to an opponents creature, just to tell him how much dead you want that creature.

Really, it should probably be compared to Ior Ruin Expedition. Both of them are two mana enchantments that eventually are sacrificed and draw you two cards. The nice thing about this card is that you get one of the cards right away and you will probably let your creature die before you hit your fourth land. Plus, it isn't a dead draw late in the game. However, if you don't have a creature to enchant, then this is a dead card. Additionally, someone might remove the creature as you're casting this, getting an easy 2 for 1.

All in all, it's a decent common, works well with heroic and works well in limited.

3.5/5

This is just the "Draw cards cheaply with the set mechanic" for Theros, similar to Think Twice, Ior Ruin Expedition, inaction injunction, Evermind, steady progress, courier's Capsule, etc...

Hy, don't underestimate this card. it's a delayed Divination for 1 less, and triggers heroic. Also, completely negates aura's innate card disadvantage.

Somehow Divination looks so much less appealing as a do nothing enchantment. That type line seems really forced.

This will see significant constructed play (alongside the Ordeal of Thassa) before the Theros block is said and done.
