I was once passive-agressively asked if I ran four in my casual deck. Turn one Sol Ring into Lightning Greaves makes folks pay attention in a bad way. 5/5

I was the first one in my circle of friends to appreciate the power of the Sol Ring (and mana acceleration), and when I showed up to a game night with four of these in my deck, the game forever changed for all of us. (before then we actually thought the following about Moxen: "It's just the same as a land, but it takes up a rare slot in the booster pack? What a gyp!" We had to teach ourselves all the things players now take for granted)

Such a card... how I wish I still had mine from years ago...

One Ring to Rule Them All
One Ring to Find Them
One Ring to Bring Them All
And in the Darkness Bind Them

I will always consider Sol Ring, not Black Lotus, to be the Lord of the Moxen.

Thinking from the perspective of a 'real' Planeswalker, NOT a card game player, Black Lotus has rarity, and potential power, but destroying itself to use is simply not reliable enough to be so coveted. It's a pretty token to distract fools with. If I were Nicol Bolas, I'd much prefer an artifact that allows me to gain mana continuously. Though of course, because of the way the lore translates to the card game, Black Lotus happens to be a hundred times superior

It's not the only quick one. It's my favorite but I am forced to admit that Mana Vault is more Mana for the same cost. It won't untap and does damage but in quick games, it does the job.

Gatherer works better in the Companion app!
