@Arachibutyrophobia:
It makes flavour sense for zombies to be very tribal. When has one lone zombie ever been scary? No, horror movies use the zombie swarm to inspire fear. Zombies hunt in packs, as it were. One zombie may never break down a barricade, but ten? Twenty? A hundred? All working together? No place is safe. Zombies may not KNOW they're working together, but they do.

Not only that, but it's easy to make zombie lords, as they appear all over pop culture. A voodoo-esque priest that commands the undead? That's a lord. As is a necromancer with a leather-bound book (fantasy RPGs, Evil Dead), as is the lone zombie that has gained sentience (Land of the Dead), the special-powered zombie that aids the horde (Left 4 Dead), or even the demonic, zombie controlling entity straight out of Hell. Through the lords, zombies are easily united. So, yeah, tribal zombie makes an appropriate amount of sense.

I'm surprised how tribal zombies are. Especially considering that they aren't sentient beings.

useful to get rid of thump blockers, or even more if you manage to get multiple copies of that guy out, or put a bunch of zomibes in one turn into play, e.g. by unearthing Grixis Slavedriver, Midnight Ritual, Skirk Ridge Exhumer or Lim-Dul the Necromancer.
the latter synergizes quite nicely since you will immediately cause a further -1/-1 wave with your revived victim for 1Black and maybe get the opportunity to repeat the process.
using this in conjunction with Bridge from Below isn't a very good idea, though ;)

I remember this being a pain in the arse in Onslaught block limited! There were too many good 2-toughness creatures in standard back then (Psychatog, Wild Mongrel, Goblin Piledriver) for this to be terribly reliable in constructed, but it's a house in casual play. Can lead to certain players getting in a strop, however, much like Engineered Plague.

I can see how this baby boy turns into a black Wrath of God with just 4 mana by unearthing four Dregscape Zombies out of your gravey.
