This guy was better back when people had the guts (and admittedly, the means) to build creatureless decks. He was sideboarded in a lot of old aggro builds in case of Milling decks and the like.
So ease up on the guy. Made of straw or not, he has a heart.

The only problem with sideboarding this in against creatureless decks was that they normally anticipated this and sided in some Steel Golems.
That was the real metagame then.

Actually it is good in a food chain deck. Works with things like Barrow Ghoul and Sadistic Glee.

I want to build a deck with awful creatures like this and then juxtapose, cultural exchange, donate, etc. I think Evil Eye of Oms-by-Gore is a must for such a deck.
