You guys are looking at this card wrong. You get Puresteel Paladin with metalcraft and a few creatures and it's not too bad. Granted though that Viridian Longbow is basically better in every way minus the proliferate/infect shenanigans which honestly aren't that great with this one. It isn't "strictly worse" but it's hard to get a situation where this is preferable.

This card is now insane. A few refreshers:
- The creature deals damage, not Hankyu. This means if it is on a creature with Infect, it shoots the opponent for poison counters.
- Proliferate now amplifies the effect of this thing.
- Cards like Puresteel Paladin allow you to equip it for 0, meaning you can tap all your stuff to charge it up and then shoot. There's a combo deck in here with that and Lost Leonin shooting the opponent for 10 poison counters...

Take a good look at this card. It's a very rare type of card. If you didn't catch it, it's one of the few not good cards of the Kamigawa block.
