Oh for crying out loud whoever rated this below 5 should give this a little more thought...

99% of all decks in the history of magic would play at least one copy of this card if given the chance (regardless of color, style of play, format, etc.)

If there is a single 5/5 card in the game. This is it. Bar none. No contest.

This is and probably always will be the best card in magic, people think oh there are lot's of things better then this til they actually see it played. My friends passed this to me in a cube draft got it 3rd pick and then showed them why it is so good when we played.

Hail to the one and only King of all collectable and playable cards. I hope mine will appreciate enough to compensate all the money I spent on mtg throughout my years of playing.

At the moment, you could probably trade a playset of foil Jace 2.0 for an unlimited black lotus! ;)

@dragonking987, if they're using force of will to counter your black lotus before you cast another spell, they should be fired from magic.

@concerned_bystander, you're kidding, right? when was the last time you looked at the top 8 decklists in any vintage tournament between 1994 and now? there isn't a single deck in vintage that doesn't use black lotus. even if it's restricted/banned/old/etc, that doesn't change the fact that it's one of the most powerful cards ever printed. whether or not it's relevant to standard and extended is, well, irrelevant.

Strictly costs more money than every other card ever printed.

Well it is fantastic, and a 5/5 for sure, but the three blue P9s (Timetwister, Time Walk and Ancestral Recall) *are* better. The argument about not playing blue is fairly moot; if you're not playing blue in vintage you're severely hamstringing yourself. ^^
