The ability is only OK, but but it has no drawbacks besides being legendary. If you have legends in a white deck, this is at least a one-of.

This is a perfect cards for edh! Prevent 2 damage from your general? Sure, why not.

Without the mana cost, it would be epic. As it is, perfectly useful in the right deck.

@tavaritz: According to the Kamigawa novels, Eiganjo is not inherently indestructible - but the Kami won't attack it because it houses That Which Was Taken.

And... aye... as others have said, pretty good card. The ability isn't anything special but it hardly hurts. In any deck running white legends you're unlikely to lose much by playing one copy. Nonbasic hate isn't seen that much these days.

It's useful in white weenie if you're running creatures like isamaru and 8.5 tails which is, of course, the deck that ran this back in the day.

Any deck with White and at least 1 Legendary creature should run one of these

@tavaritz: The kami intentionally avoided hitting Eiganjo. Stone Rain's flavor text doesn't exclude that possibility.

@tavaritz: You seem to have misread Stone Rain's flavortext It clearing states Eiganjo Castle was still standing, but does not state it was ever hit by the fire, rock, and rage of the spirits described in the text; just that it remained. You are assuming that means it was hit and survived the destruction, but it could also mean it was never the target, that the targets were everything else.

I'm not a fan of legendary lands. Some like this have good abilities, but I don't like accidental land destruction when someone else plays this forgetting I had one of my own in play. This is why Wizards now prints cards like Emeria, the Sky Ruin, which would otherwise have been legendary, without the legendary supertype.

@Everyone wondering why this could not be stone rained. Eiganjo Castle held That Which Was Taken, the whole reason for the mortal/kami war. Guess what That Which Was Taken does. It makes things indestructible. It all makes perfect sense!
