@Snaxme:
I think he was referring to The Neverending Story, a movie that, from what I gathered, was about a kid who does drugs while reading the Necronomicon.
Seriously, best Epic card IMO.

Pretty good when you consider your unused spells would just be sitting in your hand anyway. This is a decent finisher for a dedicated mill deck.

MULTIPLE EPIC SPELLS ARE FEASIBLE TO SET OFF. You need two in your hand (two of the same would work); a quicken, vedalken orrery, or leyline of anticipation; and ridiculous amounts of mana production (such as Cloudpost, Glimmerpost, Vesuva and Mycosynth Lattice) or mana reduction (such as the Planeshift familiars or Cloudkey).

Slap down one Epic spell, then before it resolves, quicken, then put another Epic spell on the stack. By the time one resolves, the other one's already been cast, and is not affected by "You can't cast spells". This has been confirmed by a MTG customer support representative via email.

Also, @DeathDark: Neverending Torment costs 6, brah. C'mon, don't be lazy, the cost is right here on this page.

Spellbook - Cost 0
Howling Mine - Cost 2
Neverending Torment - Cost 5

1 - Spellbook and a land
2 - Another land, and a Howling Mine
3 - Another land, and another Howling Mine
4 - Another land, another Howling Mine, and perhaps a defender of some sort (Drudge Skeletons)
5 - This card

Result: You have a near-immortal defender, and you get rid of 3 select cards, 3 more, 7 more, 10 more, 13 more, etc. Even large decks will die within a few turns.

not the best for milling...
if you would finish someone with a mill deck, you just mill the last few cards. nothing epic needed.

pretty cool tho
