I love this guy. my opponents do too, something about it being pathetically hilarious to see someone roll a die during their upkeep to see if they get a worthwhile creature.

Actually, if you cast it into the modern templating, the text would read "Put a red 4/4 Chicken token named 'Giant Chicken' into play". "Giant" is just part of the name, as with Giant Crab, Giant Turtle, etc. The only creature type it has is Chicken. Of course, since they've committed to never updating the Oracle text on Un-cards, the people you're playing against may or may not realize that from the old templating.

The funniest part is that the token works in giant tribal, with cards like Blind-spot Giant and Borderland Behemoth. Given the relatively small amount of low-cost giants (not counting changelings) I'll be sure to include it if I ever play Giant Tribal.
And, unlike Rukh Egg and Roc Egg, this still has the egg type. That grants it some cool points.

I don't like how they removed the Egg subtype; there might not be any noncreature Egg tribals yet, but it's ridiculous to consider Roc Egg just a Bird. Even if we got dragon egg cards, we could make this a Chicken Egg, Roc Egg a Bird Egg, and the new dragon egg card a Dragon Egg.
