Can anyone tell me if this card can force a creature with defender but explicitely NOT a wall (e.g. Thallid Shell-Dweller) to attack?

I know every wall automatically has defender, but defenders are not automatically walls and it's also valid to use the imp's ability on other creatures (who are not a wall) that you know are unable to attack, like tapped creatures. Anyone that can verify this?

Strangely, the Oracle text for this card specifies "non-wall", rather than "creature without defender". KISS YOUR CARVEN CARYATIDS GOODBYE.
