I hate the mimics. Their abilities have a too narrow trigger and the abilities aren't worth it. They should be copies of any red or blue (for this one) creature that come into play. Their mimics that don't mimic anything.

A little unsure about the whole Clout of the Dominus thing. The wording on this guy very specifically says it becomes 3/3, not gets +1/+2. My thoughts are that w/ Clout you're turning it into a 4/3 shroud haste creature w/ the little inconvenience of the "becomes 3/3" Soooo, you're going to end up w/ a 3/3 unblockable haste shroud mimic that will become 4/3 at the end of the turn. Next turn you cast another U/R spell and its going to be 3/3 again not 5/5. The whole "becomes" thing works both ways kiddies; not just the way you want it too.

The key word on this card is "unblockable." Having a couple 3/3 unblockables every turn is really fun. I got these guys in a deck w/ Crackleburr, gelectrode, and some other nasties as well. BIG FUN!!

Not dismissing Clout because giving something that weak shroud is always a good idea when you've got such great combo potential.

For those of you who question what his power/toughness is with Clout of the Dominus and what happens after that turn and etc. I reference comprehensive rule 613.3 Go look it up if your interested, but to break it down, everything is applied in layers, not everything in timestamps.

So, Riverfall Mimic is usually 2/1. You cast Riverfall and enchant it with the Clout, while Clout is on the stack, it's a 3/3. Then, Clout hits it and it gets +1/+1 and +1/+1 (because it's both colors) therefore becoming a 5/5.

At the end of your turn, he reverts back to a 2/1 that's getting +2/+2 (so it's a 4/3). Now, whenever you cast a spell that's both blue and red, any spell, it becomes a 3/3 and then the +2/+2 is added to that. And, if you cast another spell that's blue and red, it will STILL be a 5/5 because it becoming a 3/3 doesn't add +1/+2, it sets it's power and toughness.

So yeah. Just a tidbit for ya'll to ponder. 2/1, 4/3, and 5/5 are your Riverfall/Clout options. Which,... (see all)
