This is an awesome aura, the only downside is the propensity of green creature's to alrady have trample.

3 copies of this, 3 copies of Deus of Calamity and 4 Boggart Ram-Gangs are in my deck, can't wait to test it out. Doesn't matter too much if the creature this is attached to becomes a target, I'd bet any creature worthy of having this placed on it (above mentioned creatures) would be big enough targets anyway. Once it smashes through your opponents defenses once, the payment was worth it. And if no one can counter it, the game is practically yours. Let the smashing destruction commence!

@Etregan
You are poking your head into the realm of extreme overkill...which is fun if it turns out such.
Darigaaz, the Igniter? Really? So you want to attack with an 8/8 flying trample doublestriker with a (comparatively) lame and expensive ability when damage is dealt? Darigaaz isn't any more impressive than Deus of Calamity with this aura.
He is a better choice than Intet, the Dreamer, but Rith, the Awakener has an ability that doubles permanents. That is the kind of thing I want to do twice.

One of my favorite Auras for sure. It is a bit costly, but given to any creature which can benefit from both parts, it will surely speed up the pace of the game and likely win you the match. All of the Lorwyn/Shadowmoor Auras belonging to the Spirit Avatars were great, and need to be considered in a deck of the respective colors.

I was playing EDH with my brother. He casted Uril and put this, Scourge of the Nobilis, Shield of the Oversoul on it, then Aspect of Mongoose and marveled at his 17/17 Double strike, Trample, Flying, Indestructible, Lifelink, Firebreathing, Shroud guy. You can guess who won that game. Me. Phantasmal Image.
