Compare to Prodigal Pyromancer.

Both are {2R} creatures with an ability that lets them deal damage to targets.

Prodigal Pyromancer's ability is activated, while Hissing Iguanar's is triggered -- in this case off of creature death.

This means that while "Tim's" ability has more targeting versatility as well as the fact that it makes better use of the stack because it can be activated, Iguanar's ability may trigger multiple times at points where multiple creatures die, say in combat or from being devoured or otherwise sacrificed. Any targeted/mass removal will cause considerable damage to your opponent.

Finally, while most variations of Prodigal Pyromancer are 1/1 or 0/1, Iguanar is comparatively better overall in combat with a 3/1 body.

That being said, a 3/1 body with no activated abilities for {2R} is a tough sell. However, this could be fun to give Infect via Grafted Exoskeleton or Phyresis in the right deck. "Whenever another creature is put into a grave... (see all)

I dig this card . It's apart of this deck I got going, but I'm kinda confused how its effects resolve. Here's a example. Say I have 2 1/1 goblins in play via dragon fodder and two hissing iguanars. I bring out my Mycoloth and sac both the goblins doing 4 damage and then sac one of the iguanars for one more and the other for no damage. Is this correct?

Incredibly Strong In Draft And You Hate To Have To Use Quality Removal On This Guy But Sometimes You Really Have To Cuz Damage Will Tally Up In No Time With This Lizard

This should be 1/3 so it wouldn't die to everything

has anyone bothered to read the "whenever ANOTHER creature is put into a graveyard" part?
your opponents don't take damage if you devour all your iguanars.

@ puff, it doesnt work like that, when you play mycloth (or any other devour) you must declare all sacrafices at once, so if you sac the 2 goblins, with 2 of these, that is 4 dmg, if you also sac a lizard, it is 5, if you sac everything, it is 6, but you should know, the lizards are worth keeping around, as next turn, you can get a sizable sting with another devour, 8 dmg if you eat all the saprolings, 12 if you eat the whole board, 16 total, but this also wont happen till turn 6, and you are left with 1 creature, and your "protection" from removal is gone, hello doomblade

this is a nice card to make your opponent wonder about playing its removal, as each creature destroyed would also be a ping back

hmm, lethal swing with their 6 goblin tokens and 2 iguanar, or death pings with my day of judgement (btw, swing =12 damage, WoG = 14 damage in this situation)
