I love it when people call creatures, "monsters."
I also love permanents that let you untap other permanents. They are grossly overpowered.
Turn 3 Wake Thrasher
Turn 4 Filigree Sages
Turn 5 Gilded Lotus (tap Lotus, untap with Sages, repeat...), into infinitely big Wake Thrasher.
I'm sure he has a lot more interesting T2 uses.

Gilded Lotus. Why? because I can. throw in heartstone or training grounds and you actually have an effect that does something! a very powerfull something.

Never was impressed with this card, when I heard esper was coming out I hoped there would be a card comparable to Clock of Omens, Dross Scorpion, or even Voltaic Construct but I was sadly, sadly disappoint.
Never underestimate the power of untap abilities that don't require coloured mana for their activation
usually I would pick Voltaic Construct over this, as this is only useful with training grounds, Usually I don't have a problem with Voltaic Construct targeting non-creature artifacts as I usually have a March of the Machines out around turn 4.
Still its not so bad as an untap ability to sink left over mana into is always useful during your oponents end step.
