The card ain't bad, but for me personally too unreliable.
In the best case you have a 3 mana spell killing a creature. And we already had that before for less mana.
In the worst case, you have a dead card in hand doing absolutely nothing.
Not to mention what happens when your opponent plays a discard deck for example. Or if you are late game, have enough mana to play your creatures and do so, and then topdeck this. It's then a completly useless card.
Not horrible, but too situational imho.

Splashing black for these at the prerelease was definitely a good idea; being able to kill a Spawnsire of Ulamog by revealing Pathrazer of Ulamog was definitely worth the idea of running a single Swamp and two of these.

What is nice about this card is it isnt doing damage. you are changing the state of the creature card's toughness, hopefully down to 0 or less than 0. why is this important? because you are not doing damage to the card. why is that important? because a creature with a totem armor on it will still go into the graveyard, bypassing the totem aspect. so you dont have to kill it twice.

The reason I really like this card is that it takes advantage of getting stuck with a large Eldrazi or other bomb in your hand before you're able to cast it. It is also flexible enough to drop most basic/mid-level creatures for a simple 3CC. A very good remover for black.
