The Lorwyn and Shadowmoor blocks had such terrible art design...

This a pretty good card though.

Careful - if you feed a ginger after midnight, he turns into this.

Too wierd to play, definetely. And I don't like the art & stuff from Lorwyn, though Shadowmoor's rares had pretty broken art (like Hateflayer).

And to everyone talking about Scourge of the Nobilis, I have one thing to say to you:

Claws of Valakut!

You can't fight Worldwake. Don't bother trying.

This is a strange card to me. I don't like its art, I don't like its flavor, but its power makes it a cornerstone of my deck.

Compared to my other two 3-mana doublestrikers, Mirran Crusader and Markov Blademaster, he seems underpowered. However, since he works better with Scourge of the Nobilis and Balefire Liege (and the more recent Legion's Initiative), he's maintained his place despite numerous cuts.

With virtually 4 power on a 3-mana creature, he's just good value right out of the box. Doublestrike is an ability that can quickly get out of hand, mostly since it doubles any power boost he receives. A Sunforger or Angelic Destiny is usually game over, but even a modest +1/+1 boost turns him into significant threat.

I really wish it had better art, my grievance with another similar card, Boros Swiftblade.

This plus Scourge of the Nobilis equals much pain (for the enemy) and gain (for the owner).

I put this in a mono-white soldier deck. It's not crazy competitive, but it's also not weak. The best thing I've ever done is use Elspeth, Knight-Errant's second +1 ability to turn it into a 5/5 flying Double Striker on turn 4. I love double strike, and I love this card.

Dwarven Warriors, Blood Lust and Fists of the Anvil

Or Goblin Tunneler if you insist.

So good, in Goblin or Soldier tribal.

Any card that has double strike attached to it is great in my opinion. Just need to buff it it make it unblockable to do some real damage.
