I was just considering putting this into my artifact sac deck. My only hesitation was its 6 CMC. Every other card in my deck works at 5 or under and it worries me to run 6. Nonetheless, just about every other sacrifice card I have, since I'm not using Kuldotha rebirth, is predictable.
If I have Furnace Celebration out, Piston Sledge on my Embersmith and a Perilous Myr sitting there, it's pretty obvious that I'm probably going to sac the myr, pay 2, deal 4 damage and swing for 5 assuming I obliterated my opponents creatures.
On the other hand, if I'm being beat, I have 6 mountains, an iron myr and a spellbomb, a graveyard full of my sacrifice creatures, embersmiths and other combo-building permanents you might not expect me to drop a 4/4, wipe your field and draw a card. Though you might if you knew my deck.
The point I'm getting to is that I've found this card to be more useful than I initially thought. On top of that, the art is just gorgeous. I wanted to put it in so badly just ... (see all)
