Guys, seriously. If something were to attack the people in the card, I'm sure they would band together and fight whatever was attacking them, not to forget that the one being "tormented" *is* a Werewolf, with the moon rising. So maybe his power is ramping up for the transformation? 3/2 is good and flavorful. 5/5 for amazing artwork and flavor alone.

Flavor aside, this is seriously some of the worst card art I've seen in the past several blocks.
Every time I opened an Innistrad booster, I prayed that I would not see this at the end. Not only is it one of the worst of all the transformers, it is undoubtedly the ugliest.
I don't blame Bud Cook. I blame the design team, or whoever is responsible for making this clearly-last-minute card, needing a new art commission at the eleventh hour.
... at least I hope that's what happened.
0.5/5

Perhaps this man was a soldier, paladin, or hero but when times got really bad, he chickened out. The town still won, but they now scorn at him for abandoning his duties. As a result, he still has power like a soldier (1/1 or 2/2), but because he got a werewolf wound, he now is slowly powering up (like someone else said). Anyway, the tormentors got what they deserved.
