This kind of thing is cool flavor wise- it really brings a set to life.

However....

I can't think of any other creature type with more or the same amount of hate cards than SPIRITS.

Oh, yeah. Spirits have always been getting out of hand. They have been much more unruly in Legacy than say silvers, Elves, Goblins, MERFOLK!!!!!???!?!?!?!1111111

....(could've at least have been a cantrip)....

Destroys a Spirit? Sounds like Kamigawa block type of hate. At least this one isn't quite as narrow.

Very narrow, but might have some uses as a Sideboard choice for block-constructed, or in draft.
But flavor-wise, this card is great.

(Well, i think it would have been even better if it would destroy a Spirit or an Aura attached to a creature or player, but that would be a flavor-overdose at the cost of playability...although generally speaking it would still be better than its black Kamigawa counterpart, Rend Spirit.)

It's not great, but I look forward to playing it in a casual wizard deck with Imagecrafter. Tap Imagecrafter and this becomes "Destroy target creature or enchantment" in WU. And everyone loves Mortify.

@Enchantment_Removal: Like you say, it's a flavor card. Spirits get hate cards because they tend to be a prominent feature in the flavor of the sets they're in. You shouldn't expect a flavor-centric block to provide everyone's next favorite Legacy sideboard tech.

Eh, I don't get why everyone is so hung up on the Spirit part of this card. Spirit hate is narrow, can't target Saint Traft, targeting good spirits, etcetc. Like NoobOfLore said, I immediately thought of the destroy enchantment part and comparing it with Demystify.

Personally that's why I like the card. Takes something simple like an instant that destroys enchantments and adds something that could also potentially be useful. I like to think of this as an updated version of Disenchant rather than of Rend Spirit.

Amazing card. it's going straight into my mono-white decks side-board.

it gets sided in again all other white decks and u/b control, the former for obvious reasons and the later for Dungeon Geists. that card gives my deck some trouble, especially if used on a mirran with a angelic destiny equipped.

i'm aiming for Sword of Body and Mind for the pro-blue but until then. this is the best i've got

Oh, hello there Kamigawa, I didn't see you-
...
What? Innistrad? Sorry, you just look like another weird, insular set I know.

The art looks to me like "Destroy target Vincent Van Gogh painting."
