Paying life to draw cards has already proven to be broken (see Necropotence). With that card, you get them at the end of your turn. This one is an on demand draw engine, with lifelink and flying and a good body. And with all of the shenanigans black has to avoid paying for creatures, you probably won't need to hard cast it. 5/5

Griselbrand got himself grisel-banned.

What fun we had in EDH while it lasted. I shall always remember drawing half my library and winning on the spot.
Good night, sweet prince, and may a pack of devils sing thee to thy rest.

I feel compelled to represent the Vorthos viewpoint here, and point out that it's equal parts lame and hilarious that a giant, powerful demon with ominous flavor text like Griselbrand ran into a Liliana-powered bug zapper immediately after leaving the Helvault.

Necropotence is back, and better than ever. OK, no it's not, but this guy is still pretty rad.

Someone, somewhere, will use his ability and draw only 7 swamps.

Liliana of the Veil: Yo Mikaeus, wake up! Where's Griselbrand?

Mikaeus, The Unhallowed: Brains?

Liliana: Mik, seriously!

Mikaeus: BRAINS!

Liliana: Dammit, Mik!

Mikaeus: Guuuuaahhhchhhhh....

Liliana: Screw this. When I'm done with that demon, I'm going to cut out Geralf's heart with his own letter opener.

Mikaeus: Geralf brains?

Liliana: *Sighs* sure. You can eat his brain. Now where's Griselbrand?

Mikaeus: Helvault.

Liliana: Great. How do I get him out?

Mikaeus: ....

Liliana: Not even Garruk is as dense as you. Thanks for nothing.

Mikaeus: Brains.

@steinburger1109: Trust me, drawing cards is better than making your field indestructible. If you doubt me, just say hello to Skirge Familiar, Cadaverous Bloom, and Tendrils of Agony.

A huge body with evasion and incredible card advantage that pays for itself, that can easily be reanimated with Unburial Rites? Sign me up. Pulled one at the prerelease, so I may be playing Frites or Necrotic Ooze combo soon.

Griselbrand is an awesome card, but he made one mistake, he made a deal with Liliana.
