I actually quite like this in EDH. It's pretty good for getting rid of certain cards that you'd prefer not to deal with, and it's pretty castable in that format in the right deck.
Things that come to mind for exile: Eldrazi, Praetor's Counsel, Iona.
Hell, you can even do it on yourself if your General has been Spell Crumple'd and you want to thin your deck of land in the late game.
Sadistic Sacrament is obviously better, but this has the advantage of being in blue, which has more spell copying stuff, and the General finding aspect of it is better in blue, which has less tutor than black.

Has no one thought of panoptic mirror? Imprint this on the mirror is response to it triggering, search for any card that can get rid of your mirror, then search every turn for anything that might be a threat. GG

To bad its not instant speed. Got to tap out during your turn for this effect would be stronger at instant.
