@ZEvilMustache: No, the problem is, destroying two lands by turn 7 at the earliest is not nearly as effective as, for example, Rith, the awakener's "you get an absurd number of saprolings".

This is one of my favorite of the legendary dragons. I love land destruction just because it annoys everybody like heck.

I have a domain deck for multiplayer and this is my favourite finisher, thanks in no small part to the 4x Collective Restraint and 4x Global Ruin in the deck.

I heart Numot... and I especially heart dealing 6 damage to one opponent and then blowing up a land from two other, different opponents. :)

There's nothing blue about him. If you ask me, his ability should have been Oros'.

In a Numot, the Devastator EDH deck:
T1- Plains, Sol Ring
T2- Island, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV
T3- Mountain, cast Numot
T4- Razia's Purification, choose your Mountain, Sol Ring, and general. Attack and destroy some lands.
T5 and on- Systematically destroy everyone's mana base over and over again preventing them from playing anything.
Post-Game- Get beat to death in parking lot by your opponents.

out of all the legendary dragons, he's probably the one with the fewest drawbacks. I like playing esper colors but Dromar is pretty difficult to deal with and by the time you hard cast Crosis or Darigaaz your opponent probably wont have enough cards in hand to make a difference. Teneb and Treva are awesome. I guess Numot is just the most straightforward...

I understand that he is a mirror of the Invasion dragons which have combat damage triggers. But Destroying 2 lands per turn is just sick. If you attack with him and activate his ability turn 7 your opponent is down to 4 lands (assuming you are going first). Unless they have a board wipe next turn they are shut out of the game. This ability to take out 2 lands per activation is absurd. There is a reason that Magic has gone away from reprinting Stone Rain effects in Red. They want the Red player from being overly obnoxious and they actually want a more strategic game based on decision making. I am glad that Magic is become more mature and strategic for Red.

Don't like blowing up lands? Run Flagstones of Trokair and Crucible of Worlds in your EDH deck to draw every "plains" from your deck!
