Ulamog's dope and everything, but I've always found Kozilek more suitable for my ramp deck instead.

Like all the Eldrazi titans, he also has cool art.

OK, Im going to shorten this rant into something...um, readable. :p

Commander comes from EDH. Elder Dragon Highlander. Does anyone even remember the Elder Dragons from Legends anymore? This is From the Vault: Legends. Where the hell is my foil Vaevictis Asmadi? Or maybe Chromium? I'll take Arcaddes Sabboth, even. It's really not that hard. Just not Bolas. I mean, Bolas WOULD have been nice...if he wasn't already in a From the Vault. I would almost, almost be ok with an actual Double Vault appearance by Bolas, if it meant the set no longer looked like --

From the Vault: New Stuff is Better than History. seriously. How many of these cards existed pre-8th Edition? Hell, how many of them existed pre-MENDING?! This isn't "From the Vault". This is "From my Trade Binder".

I mean, this set really kind of kicks the whole idea of the From the Vault series in the balls. Dragons, Exiled, Relics, and Legends. What else is a good topic for the Vault? I think this set really might have kille... (see all)

I still wish they'd done Emrakul, The Aeons Torn instead (predictable as it would have been), but there's no denying that he looks especially awesome with the new set symbol.

Dies to Tragic Slip. Dies to Storm Crow and Ovinize. Dies to Sanctuary Cat and Humble.

Big boy indestructible Ulamog, say hello to my Phyrexian Ingester. Buh-bye, and now I have a 13/13 eating machine.

Is that just me, or would he make an awesome anti-milling card?

@swords to exile

I play a colorless EDH deck with Ulamog as my commander. it owns so hard.

I see why people would like to see older cards, but a lot of them would become obsolete and not as useful as they would be now.

Imagine if a lot of them were from the Kamigawa set. Things with "Spirit" or "Arcane" bonuses would be a joke, and there would be more complaints than there is now. At least they brought back one of the best (Kiki-Jiki, that is)

I kind of would've liked to see something like Phage the Untouchable getting reprinted, since it kind of has an amazing ability, without being unstoppable. She also was featured in many other cards like Swat and Death Match, so I'm curious to their decision.

Regardless, as a player, all of the cards are great, including Ulamog, as well as a good investment. Getting two boxes would be a good idea, since you could then play with one set, and have another ready if you wanted to sell it at any point, because I know these cards would be highly sought after.

An odd choice to say the least. Maybe they wanted to have a colorless legend? Was the full art card frame a factor? If so why couldn't they have given him new art to go with it?

I imagine Ulamog wrestling a darksteel colossus destroying everything in its way. Viscous card.
